Las Vegas, Nevada
Partying and gambling. That was the perception I left with on my last visit to Las Vegas about 3 years ago. After staying there for almost 7 days with Ben’s family, all we did was go out with his cousins, watch his parents hit the slots, eat at really good restaurants and went to almost all the famous hotels at the strip. I left with no photos to blog or post because all along, I thought that were no photo worthy spots to go to in the city! I was proved wrong when I travelled with 2 bloggers to the city of sin. I guess if you put three passionate bloggers together who are on the haunt for Instagrammable spots, anywhere becomes one! lol :P
While researching on places to go to, I stumbled upon a travel website called KKDAY. They offer curated tours from all the countries you can imagine flying to from riding a hot air balloon in Spain, to a walking tour in the streets of Beijing or even a skip to line entrance ticket to Taipei 101 :) With just a few clicks, you can easily turn your itinerary into a memorable one! We booked 2 tours under their website but we wanted to show you 7 things that you could do in Las Vegas! :)
1. Take a road trip and see the Hoover Dam.
I never expected Hoover Dam to take my breath away. I thought that there was nothing special about it because well, it’s a dam! haha When we drove past it and took a few photos, I was in awed with how big it was! I couldn’t believe that it was made by the hands of humans :) Plus it’s cool cause you can be at two places at once causes the boarder marker is on the bridge on top it ;) Too bad we didn’t get to take a photo!
2. Then head on over and explore the majestic Grand Canyon.
Instead of turning back to the city after seeing Hoover Dam, drive further and explore the Grand Canyon. KKday made our lives easier because the tour we booked with them took us to two places in just a span of 8 hours. Plus the seats were comfortable, there was free wifi and the tour guide was really funny too! :) The Grand Canyon leaves you speechless. It’s a feeling you can explain when you realize how amazing God is as an artist.
3. Tour the one of a kind Neon Museum, aka the graveyard for dead signages.
This museum is one of the most modern and instagrammable ones we’ve been to date, No fancy paintings or sculptures here though, just old signages from now closed down hotels that are full of history :) We’re warning you though, you pay 20 dollars to enter the very small museum and an escorted guide to go with it. The big BUT is, if your main purpose was to take photos, you will have very little time to because they’re very very strict. A group of marshals are literally watching your every move and if you slow your pace down a little from the group to sneak in a photo, they’ll call your attention right away. To be honest, it’s a place we won’t go back to after the first visit.
4. Explore, take a dip and pig out at the world famous Strip.
Even with all the things to do and take photos of, we are very sure that your trip to The Strip is going to be the highlight of your trip! :P If you’ve just turned 21 or over 21, go to atleast one club to get a full experience :) Have a glass of the famous Fat Tuesdays, eat at one of Gordon Ramsey’s restaurants or just tour around taking photos in hotels!
5. Hike one of the hottest places in America, Valley of Fire.
The Valley of Fire is an hour and 30 minutes away from Las Vegas. According to Verniece (I didn’t go because of the heat lol), it’s worth driving up there but the heat will kill you. With only a 5 minute hike, the view will wow you already! Just make sure to bring water, a umbrella, sunblock and wear comfortable closed shoes especially if you go during the summer. Also, don’t forget to bring a camera because that’s all you’ll really do there :P
6. Take photos at the Instagrammable Freemont Street.
Freemont Street is a part of Downtown Las Vegas that was just recently transformed into in a tourist hub. People usually just go for photos and it’s funny what the digital age can do to places. It’s filled with graffiti and beautifully designed cafès and hotel exteriors :) Again, don’t forget to bring your camera!
7. Have a one of a kind experience by riding a helicopter to get the best view of Las Vegas.
We booked this experience through KKDay again and it is the highlight of our trip. It was my first time riding a helicopter and it makes you nervous then overwhelmed then really really happy all in a span of just 10 minutes! hahaha The ride’s short but worth every penny :)
If you have any other places you can suggest that we missed here on this list, let us know by commenting below! Would love to visit it the next time we go ;)
